Vietnam Communist Party Central Committee Pays Homage at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

On the morning of July 20, in Hanoi, the delegation of the Party Central Committee and its delegates offered wreaths and paid respects at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, before the opening of the 3rd Plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee. They also laid wreaths to commemorate heroes and martyrs at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street. This ceremony is an important traditional event for the Party leadership, symbolizing reverence for President Ho Chi Minh, the nation's founder, and his will, within Vietnam's one-party system under the Communist Party. It is held annually before major party conferences and political events, serving as an opportunity to reaffirm the Party's unity and loyalty to the nation. Following its transition to a socialist-oriented market economy, Vietnam has achieved remarkable economic growth. However, its political system remains under the one-party rule of the Communist Party. Such political rituals are considered to play a crucial role in maintaining domestic stability and strengthening the Party's legitimacy. In recent years, Vietnam has adopted a complex stance in its relationship with China, maintaining high economic dependence while increasing vigilance on issues like territorial disputes.
