Kampong Thom Provincial Police Chief has instructed forces to strengthen citizen intervention and command management. Emphasis was placed on readiness for rapid response to natural disasters and accidents, maintaining troop health and hygiene, and fostering internal solidarity.
Kampong Thom Provincial Police Chief, Major General Heng Sophal, has instructed police forces to continue strengthening citizen intervention and command management. The directive was issued during a flag-saluting ceremony at the provincial police headquarters on the morning of September 14, 2026, attended by 370 police officers. Major General Sophal advised the heads of 32 specialized departments to meticulously manage their forces by strictly monitoring the actual presence of officers during duty hours. He emphasized the reinforcement of specialized work procedures and the tracking and supervision of task fulfillment according to hierarchy, directives, and orders from leadership, all while upholding a high sense of responsibility. Daily operations, such as flag saluting, standing guard, and shift changes between units, are crucial for ensuring that forces are always prepared for intervention and rescue operations. This readiness enables prompt assistance to citizens in the event of accidents, disasters, or other emergencies caused by natural phenomena. Given the current rainy season and fluctuating weather conditions, the Police Chief urged all officers to prioritize their health through clean living, safe food consumption, and regular hygiene practices. He also encouraged participation in sanitation and beautification activities around their workplaces and living quarters to maintain a pleasant, orderly, and hygienic environment. Major General Sophal further promoted the strengthening of internal solidarity and unity within the force. He urged officers to pay close attention to and help resolve the challenges faced by their subordinates, including providing mutual support in terms of resources, materials, and provisions, as well as offering encouragement and assistance during difficult times. He affirmed that maintaining solidarity, internal unity, and a sense of responsibility among all officers is a key factor in enhancing work efficiency and contributing to the building of a stronger, more disciplined, and continuously developing organization.
