Udor Mean Chey Province Offers Free Accommodation and Food for Needy High School Exam Candidates

Udor Mean Chey Province, located in northwestern Cambodia, will offer free accommodation and meals to economically disadvantaged candidates taking the high school graduation exam (Bakdup) on August 10-11, 2026. This initiative, led by the provincial Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), also includes providing transportation and vehicle storage for the candidates. According to a notice from the UYFC Udor Mean Chey Provincial Committee, the aim is to alleviate the financial burden on parents or guardians and candidates traveling from distant areas who may lack sufficient means for travel, accommodation, and meals. Free services include lodging at the UYFC provincial headquarters, seven meals during the examination period, and transportation from various districts to the provincial town and from the accommodation to the exam centers. General candidates will also receive transportation from their districts to the provincial town and secure parking for their vehicles at the three exam centers. During a meeting with teachers and 12th-grade students preparing for the exam on August 4, Mr. Mean Chanyada, Governor of Udor Mean Chey Province and Chairman of the UYFC provincial branch, outlined the support mechanisms and urged district/city UYFC branches and relevant authorities to collaborate for a successful examination process. The governor also advised candidates to take good care of their health to prepare for the upcoming exams and to perform to the best of their abilities. For the high school graduation exam on August 10, Udor Mean Chey Province has 1,731 registered candidates, including 977 females. They will be accommodated across three centers comprising 22 rooms: one center with 12 rooms for science streams and two centers with 10 rooms for social science streams. Nationwide, the Ministry of Education has designated 244 exam centers with 6,207 rooms, including 68 centers with 1,533 rooms for science streams and 176 centers with 4,674 rooms for social science streams.
