Cambodia is pushing forward with its administrative reforms, with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service, Hun Many, leading a crucial meeting. On the morning of Wednesday, September 16, 2026, H.E. Hun Many, in his capacity as Minister of Civil Service and Permanent Vice-Chairman of the National Committee for Promoting the Implementation of Key Measures for Public Service Administrative Reform (NCPI-PSAR), presided over the 3rd meeting of the Committee for Promoting Governance of Ministries and Institutions under the Executive Branch. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Public Service Administrative Reform Committee, with the participation of many Excellencies, Ladies, Gentlemen, and representatives from all ministries and institutions, as well as working groups from the five reform task forces. The primary objective of this morning's meeting was to review, assess, and discuss the committee's work progress, and to set future directions aimed at effectively promoting the implementation of the second key measure. This measure focuses on reviewing functions, analyzing roles, and restructuring ministries and institutions to eliminate overlapping responsibilities and enhance the efficiency of human resource utilization in public administration, adhering to the approach of 'strengthening rather than expanding, and tidying up the house.' It is reiterated that the work of promoting governance and reforming state institutions is a priority and the core of the 'Pentagonal Strategy' Phase 1 of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly government, under the visionary and wise leadership of Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to ensure national progress and sustainable development.
