Banteay Meanchey Information Department Urges Officials to Enhance Digital Content Quality and Timely Combat Fake News

Banteay Meanchey Provincial Information Department Director, Sek Sokhum, has urged his subordinates to enhance the quality of digital content and swiftly combat the spread of fake news, aiming to safeguard public peace and prevent misinformation. This directive was issued during a meeting held on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the provincial information department's meeting hall. The meeting was convened to review the July work report and set future work objectives, with attendance from the deputy director, heads and deputy heads of the five offices, and numerous civil servants under the department. During the significant meeting, Sek Sokhum expressed his high appreciation for the efforts of the leadership and all civil servants in actively disseminating truthful, rapid, and timely information to the public in the past month. To further elevate the professionalism and efficiency of their work, the department chief outlined key recommendations. These include strengthening the quality and diversity of information content, with officials paying close attention to producing richer content that deeply reflects the province's developmental progress, security, public order, and the actual living conditions of its residents. Information officers are tasked with closely monitoring and grasping all untrue or socially polluting information that could cause confusion, enabling them to provide timely and well-founded clarifications and responses. All civil servants are encouraged to continue developing their capacities in technology and modern media systems to keep pace with the evolution of the new digital society. Heads of offices are instructed to lead with a strong sense of responsibility and enhance close cooperation among the five offices to ensure that work processes proceed smoothly and efficiently.
