Minister Bahlil Mentioned Presidential Summons from Prabowo During Golkar Party Event
Minister Bahlil Lahadalia revealed he received a summons from President Prabowo during his speech at a Golkar Party training event. The minister briefly paused his address to coordinate the scheduled meeting with the President.
An interesting moment occurred during the speech of Minister of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises Bahlil Lahadalia, who also serves as the Chairman of the Golkar Party, at the Golkar Party Academy's Training of Trainers event held at the Golkar Party DPP office in West Jakarta on Monday (3/8/2026). Initially, Bahlil joked that his aide approaching him at the podium was ruining his speech. "You've come to ruin my speech," Bahlil quipped. Bahlil then stated that he was summoned by President Prabowo Subianto after speaking with his aide. The minister requested his aide to negotiate for the meeting to be postponed to 1:15 PM. "Is this the first time? Can't it be at 1:15 PM? I was about to give a speech, and my thoughts flew away because I was called by the President. Boss, negotiate first. You do the lobbying, lobbying, lobbying," he said. After that, Bahlil continued his speech, which was related to the Training of Trainers event. A few moments later, his aide approached Bahlil's podium again. Bahlil sounded pleased when it turned out his meeting with President Prabowo could be postponed. "Can it be? Okay, huh? Oh, you? Add more if that's the case," Bahlil said to his aide. Bahlil then described the moment as a lesson in 'managing' Golkar-style. According to him, flexibility is a characteristic that distinguishes the Golkar Party from other parties. "Well, this, this, this is the Golkar management lesson. Usually, others have to be on time, but we can still manage. Well, this is the characteristic of Golkar Party cadres and non-Golkar Party cadres, flexibility," he added.
