Cambodia Strengthens Community Ties Through Local Development and Buddhist Offerings

In Tria Commune, Stueng district, Kampong Thom province, Mr. Pang Vee, head of the local working group, highlighted the achievements and progress made by the team for the commune. This took place on August 1, 2026, at Wat Tompech, as part of an event to offer Vassa candles and alms to monks at six pagodas, donated by H.E. Thao Chetha and his wife. Mr. Pang Vee stated that the Vassa candle offering ceremony was a golden opportunity for the national working group to meet with residents and monks, strengthening bonds of friendship, solidarity, and intimacy. He emphasized that this occasion allows for the accumulation of merit for this life and future lives, leading to improved living conditions and happiness for the people, ensuring no one faces hardship and is overlooked. He further elaborated that all achievements, such as roads, bridges, schools, wells, pagodas, and solar lighting, built by the government and the working group, are the result of the collective efforts and assets of the working group and all citizens. Therefore, residents of Tria Commune must collectively preserve and protect these achievements for long-term use by future generations. To ensure sustainable development and further progress in Tria Commune, strong solidarity between authorities, the working group, and residents is crucial. A firm partnership in construction and development of the commune must continue sustainably and inclusively. Moreover, to ensure victory in the upcoming commune-sangkat council election next year, youth are the core force and key drivers. Along with loyalty and faithfulness to the party, they must collectively vote for the Cambodian People's Party in the election scheduled for June 6, 2027. It is noted that each of the six pagodas in Tria Commune received one pair of Vassa candles and a large quantity of alms. Wat Tompech specifically received an additional $1,000 USD, and Tompech Primary School received an additional $500 USD, as donations from H.E.
