Dien Bien Holds Ceremony for Remains of Martyrs Found on Pha Din Pass

Dien Bien province, located in northwestern Vietnam, solemnly held a mourning and interment ceremony on the morning of July 30 for the remains of two fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives on Pha Din Pass. The ceremony took place at the Doc Lap Cemetery of Fallen Soldiers in Thanh Nua commune and was jointly organized by the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province. This burial is part of a significant undertaking by Dien Bien province to excavate and identify remains from 2,042 unidentified graves at the Doc Lap Cemetery of Fallen Soldiers. This extensive effort aims to ascertain the identities of soldiers lost during wartime and honor their contributions. Dien Bien was a pivotal battlefield during the Vietnam War, where numerous soldiers gave their lives for the country. The province is diligently collecting and, where possible, identifying the remains of these heroes to honor their sacrifice. Such activities also serve as an opportunity to foster national patriotism and reaffirm the desire for peace.
