European customer service software firm Pleased.com has opened its headquarters in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Philippines, aiming to hire over 100 local tech talents in the next year. The company cited BGC's infrastructure and talent pool as key factors.
Customer service software firm Pleased.com has established its headquarters in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Philippines, signaling a significant investment in local tech talent. The European-founded company plans to hire over 100 Filipino workers within the next year. Pleased.com, established approximately four years ago in Europe, previously operated remotely from the continent. This week marked the formal opening of its Philippine office located at the Three/NEO Building in BGC. The company intends to recruit between 100 and 110 employees in the Philippines over the next 12 months, with a primary focus on technology and product-related roles. It has already onboarded administrative staff and around 10 engineers locally, and aims to have 50 engineers by the end of the year. Jonathan Sterling, founder and CEO of Pleased.com, explained the choice of Taguig over lower-cost locations, stating, "We want to go where the best talent and the best infrastructure is." He further emphasized, "I really feel like the best talent and the best infrastructure is specifically in BGC." Pleased.com offers live chat, email ticketing, and voice support software to businesses. Its platform currently manages six to seven million customer contacts annually for enterprise clients, including Lithuanian credit institution Unlokk and African digital bank Tenn.io. Sterling noted that artificial intelligence (AI) handles approximately 75 percent of client contacts from initiation to resolution, while automatically routing dissatisfied customers to human agents. Despite its technological capabilities, Sterling stressed that Pleased.com identifies as a customer service software provider rather than an AI company. The expansion into the Philippines will also support the company's strategic push into the small and mid-sized business (SMB) market, particularly in the United States. Pleased.com aims to simplify the deployment of its customer service platform for smaller companies, reducing the need for extensive technical expertise. Sterling indicated a specific search for engineers and workers holding bachelor's and master's degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The BGC office was completed within three months of the company leasing the space. Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano, who attended the office opening, expressed optimism that the investment could help connect Filipino talent with global opportunities. A representative from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and executives from Neo Group were also present. /pai
