This move is part of a reshuffling of regional leadership within Vietnam's one-party system, aiming to foster local economic development and stability.
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam has decided to assign Comrade Le Quang Tung, a member of the Central Committee and former Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, to join the Provincial Party Committee and its Standing Committee, and to hold the position of Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. He has also been appointed to the Party Committee of Military Region 9. Concurrently, Lieutenant General Dinh Van Noi will serve as Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, concurrently holding the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee. Furthermore, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nhan and Comrade Ho Van Mung have been appointed as Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee of An Giang, respectively. This reshuffle of provincial leadership is seen as a strategic move by the Communist Party to strengthen regional governance and drive economic development. An Giang province, located in the Mekong Delta, is a key area for agriculture and border trade, and its stability and growth are vital to Vietnam's overall economic progress.
