Cambodia Gears Up to Host 2026 Francophonie Summit

Cambodia is intensifying its preparations to host the 20th Francophonie Summit, scheduled to take place from November 15-16, 2026. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prak Sokhonn, led the 6th meeting of the National Committee responsible for organizing the summit on the afternoon of May 30. The meeting aimed to review the progress of summit preparations and coordinate future plans. The Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) is an international organization of French-speaking countries and regions, promoting political, economic, and cultural cooperation among its members. Cambodia hosting this significant international conference presents an opportunity to enhance its global presence and strengthen ties with Francophone nations. In addition to the leaders' summit, ministerial meetings and various related events are planned. Cambodia is undertaking extensive preparations, including infrastructure development, strengthening security measures, and organizing cultural exchange programs, to ensure the smooth execution of these activities, it is believed.
