Vietnam National Assembly Reviews Organizational Reform and Personnel Appointments
Vietnam's National Assembly Standing Committee met on July 17 to discuss organizational restructuring for the National Assembly Office and State Audit Office, reducing deputy positions, 2026 staffing plans, and personnel matters. This move aligns with the Communist Party's push for administrative streamlining and efficiency.
On July 17, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member, Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, and Chairman of the National Assembly, Mr. Tran Thanh Man, chaired a meeting of the National Assembly Party Committee Standing Board to review and give opinions on several issues related to the rearrangement of organizational structures and personnel work. At the meeting, the National Assembly Party Committee Standing Board provided opinions on: continuing to rearrange the internal organizational structure of the National Assembly Office and the State Audit Office; determining the number of deputy positions in accordance with Conclusion No. 187-KL/TW dated August 29, 2025, of the Politburo and Secretariat on the orientation of the number of deputy positions of agencies and organizations in the political system; and assigning the 2026 staffing quota and considering personnel matters. This meeting is part of Vietnam's ongoing efforts to streamline its administrative apparatus and enhance efficiency. The Communist Party of Vietnam, as the sole ruling party, regularly directs reforms to optimize state institutions. The focus on reducing deputy positions and refining organizational structures reflects a broader national strategy to improve governance and resource allocation, especially as the country continues its rapid economic development and seeks to strengthen its international standing.
