The Governor of Phuket has ordered a comprehensive deep investigation by five government agencies into 'Shabads' operating in the Patong area. This directive follows the discovery that two legal entities associated with the business belong to the same group. The 'Shabads' under investigation have been confirmed to possess assets totaling 261 million baht (approximately 1 billion Japanese Yen) and operate six branches within the Patong district. Notably, among the key directors of these entities are two foreign nationals holding Thai ID cards, and one individual of Israeli nationality. In response to this matter, Phuket provincial authorities plan to conduct a multi-faceted investigation, focusing on the legality of the business operations, financial flows, and verification of the foreign directors' identities.
