Vietnam Hosts Southern Region Competition for Local Security Forces

A competition to showcase the skills of forces participating in maintaining security and order in local communities was held in southern Vietnam. This "Competition for Excellent Forces Participating in Maintaining Security and Order in Local Communities" took place in Ba Ria ward, Ho Chi Minh City, from July 29 to 30, as part of the first nationwide competition scheduled for 2026. The event was organized by the Ministry of Public Security. Seventeen provinces and cities from southern Vietnam sent their elite units to participate in the contest. These forces demonstrated their knowledge, skills, and practical abilities in community-level security and order maintenance activities. The competition is expected to serve as a platform for disseminating exemplary operational models and effective methods for safeguarding local security and order, while also promoting the enhancement of participating units' capabilities. In Vietnam, maintaining security and order at the community level is considered crucial as a foundation for national stability and economic development. Crime prevention and ensuring resident safety, particularly in urban and densely populated areas, are among the key responsibilities of the Ministry of Public Security. Competitions like this function to boost the morale of frontline forces and facilitate the sharing of practical know-how.
