Efforts to Increase Income for Rural Residents

It has been decided to promote the socio-economic life of rural residents, and efforts will be made to support the development of rural areas into productive and successful economic environments, and to increase the income of the people and enrich their socio-economic lives, said the Head of State, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. This was stated in the message sent by the Head of State of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Agga Maha Thray Sithu Agga Maha Siri Summa Dhamma, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, to the ceremony commemorating the 2026 International Day of Cooperatives and World Rural Development Day. It is stated in the message that efforts must be accelerated to provide electricity to rural areas, including renewable energy, and that access to electricity not only directly improves the living standards of rural residents but is also essential for expanding modern production activities. The message also states that education and healthcare sectors are key important sectors for rural development, and that efforts must be made to promote the improvement of the educational standards of rural residents and the enhancement of healthcare services in a balanced manner. Furthermore, it is understood from the message that rural economic development activities based on cooperative systems and collective efforts must be successfully carried out for national development based on rural areas. It is also stated in the message that, in line with the belief that "the strength of the nation lies within the country," efforts must be made to achieve national development that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the international community by systematically utilizing the country's abundant natural resources and human resources.
