Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency Appoints 5 New Officials, Former Prosecutor Spokesperson Tapped for Monitoring Role

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) of Indonesia has announced the appointment of five new echelon I officials, based on a Presidential Decree. Among them is Ketut Sumedana, former Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum Kejagung), who has been appointed as the Deputy for Monitoring and Supervision at BGN. Agustina Arumsari, Deputy Head of BGN, stated regarding Sumedana's appointment, "He has served as the Head of the Legal Information Center for a long time, organizing press conferences and other events. His extensive experience and network across Indonesia will greatly contribute to identifying potential irregularities in the nutrition sector and ensuring regulatory compliance." Sumedana has a 28-year career in the prosecutor's office, having served as the Attorney General of Bali and the Attorney General of South Sumatra. Sumedana's primary responsibilities will include monitoring and evaluating all BGN programs and verifying operational standards. This aims to ascertain the implementation status of nutrition policies and ensure their adherence to standards. The other newly appointed officials are: 1. Lili Khamiliyah: Secretary General 2. Prima Yosephine Berliana Tumiur Hutapea: Deputy for Systems and Governance 3. Zainuri: Deputy for Supply and Distribution 4. Mariman Darto: Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation 5. Ketut Sumedana: Deputy for Monitoring and Supervision This reshuffle is seen as part of efforts to strengthen BGN's organizational structure and ensure the more effective implementation of nutrition policies.
