Thailand Explores EV Roaming Hub with 3 Electricity Authorities and OR

The Thai government has begun considering the establishment of a nationwide charging infrastructure network, the 'Thailand EV Roaming Hub,' to significantly improve the convenience for electric vehicle (EV) users within the country. This project involves the participation of three major electricity authorities in Thailand and PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR). This collaboration is expected to enable the interoperability of charging stations operated by different electricity companies and provide charging services across a wider geographical area. Currently, while the adoption of EVs is progressing in Thailand, challenges such as a shortage of charging infrastructure and disparities in service availability across regions persist. The establishment of the Thailand EV Roaming Hub is a crucial step towards overcoming these challenges and encouraging general consumers considering switching to EVs, as well as the logistics and transportation industries, to adopt EVs. Furthermore, it is anticipated to promote the development of the overall EV ecosystem in Thailand and contribute to the realization of a sustainable transportation society.
