55 involved in online fraud and gambling arrested with business equipment in Muse Township, Shan State (North)

It is reported that 55 individuals involved in committing online fraud and gambling crimes within Muse Township, Shan State (North), were apprehended along with business equipment. The national government is prioritizing and undertaking efforts to combat online fraud and online gambling worldwide as a national duty, and is actively pursuing and suppressing these activities in coordination with neighboring countries, in addition to domestic forces, to ensure they cannot re-establish themselves. In this regard, security joint teams conducted investigation, detection, and inspection activities to prevent individuals involved in online fraud and gambling from residing in and operating within their respective territories. As a result, at approximately 10:40 AM on July 24th, in a house located on Suan Saw (2) Street in the Suan Saw Ward of Muse Township, Shan State (North), 17 Chinese male suspects and 12 Myanmar male and 15 female suspects, totaling 44 individuals, involved in committing online fraud and gambling crimes were arrested along with 33 various mobile phones, 38 All-in-One computers, one laptop, one Star Link, and eight motorcycles. Subsequently, the security joint teams continued their investigation, detection, and inspection activities within the said ward. At approximately 11:10 AM, in another house on the same street, 11 Myanmar male suspects involved in committing online fraud and gambling crimes were additionally arrested along with 33 All-in-One computers, three CPUs, and five UPS units. The arrested individuals involved in these online fraud and gambling activities will be prosecuted in accordance with existing laws after the necessary investigations are completed, and the seized business equipment will be processed according to established procedures. The nation is actively continuing its efforts in cooperation with neighboring countries, regional countries, and international organizations to eradicate online fraud and gambling crimes and prevent their establishment within Myanmar.
