Military Council's supply ships sailing up the Chindwin River, residents of riverside villages urged to be vigilant

Yangon, July 6 The Homalin Township Emergency Administration Central Committee issued a statement today, July 6, urging residents of riverside villages to be vigilant as Military Council warships are transporting supplies up and down the Chindwin River. It is currently the period of rising water levels in the Chindwin River, and the Military Council is using flat motorboats and attack vessels to transport weapons, ammunition, and related supplies up and down the river. During such transportation, it has been notified that shelling with heavy and small arms from warships and bombing with paramotors and gyrocopters are being carried out on riverside villages. Due to such bombing and shelling by the Military Council, there have been losses of life and property of innocent civilians, and it is requested that during the times when warships pass through, residents should stay in safe places, bomb shelters, and sturdy buildings. Starting from July 4, two Military Council attack vessels and 26 flat motorboats loaded with soldiers, drones, weapons, ammunition, and supplies, which departed from Alon Min Daing Port in Monywa, arrived and are currently docked in Kanigyi Town as of 6 PM today, July 6. Reconnaissance drones have also been launched. Therefore, resistance organizations have urged residents of villages near Kanigyi Town to exercise extreme caution. "Currently, there is aerial reconnaissance. Residents of villages along the river have fled to safe areas," a local resident told the Yangon Khit Thit Media. Furthermore, it is known that a second batch of 16 Military Council vessels are departing from Alon Min Daing Port in Monywa, and as these vessels sail upstream, they are also carrying out indiscriminate shelling with heavy weapons and bombing attacks with paramotors and gyrocopters on riverside villages.
