International NGO World Vision has been transforming school kitchens into eco-friendly cooking spaces free from toxic smoke, thereby effectively protecting the respiratory health of children and cooks. According to information from World Vision on July 2, 2026, the use of biogas energy instead of firewood helps reduce carbon emissions and deforestation, making a significant contribution to combating climate change. This initiative also allows schools to save time and budget on daily nutritional meal preparation. World Vision Cambodia has supported 10 target schools, including 5 schools in Santuk district, Kampong Speu province, and 5 schools in Roleab Pair district, Kampong Chhnang province, to implement the use of biogas stoves for cooking meals for students.
