CPP Emphasizes Grassroots Policies, Listening to Citizens Ahead of Local Elections
Net Pheaktra, a member of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Central Committee, met with local party leaders in Kratie province, emphasizing the implementation of effective policies that meet residents' needs and addressing local issues. The meeting aimed to strengthen the party's foundation ahead of the 2027 commune/sangkat council elections.
Net Pheaktra, a member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and head of the party's working group for Kratie province, met with leaders of the CPP in three communes – Sre Char, Snuol, and 2 Tnu – in Snuol district, Kratie province, on September 13. During the meeting, Mr. Pheaktra emphasized that the CPP's policies "focus on supporting citizens in all sectors and are practical, without making empty promises." He highlighted the importance of practically implementing the party's policies to meet the needs and interests of the local population, and to continuously strengthen the party's work for greater effectiveness. This consultation also forms part of the CPP's work plan for the upcoming 6th mandate commune/sangkat council elections, scheduled for June 2027. Mr. Pheaktra stressed that grassroots work must focus on listening to and resolving the challenges faced by citizens. He urged for the continued promotion of policies that provide tangible benefits to the people, contributing to the sustainable well-being and development of local communities. He further emphasized that paying attention to the well-being and livelihoods of the citizens is crucial for strengthening the relationship and trust between the party and the people. Therefore, he instructed working groups at all levels to perform their duties with a high sense of responsibility, to continuously follow up on citizens' issues until results are achieved, and to ensure that problems raised by citizens are not left unaddressed or without appropriate solutions. Mr. Pheaktra outlined the key principles for grassroots work: "Go deep, listen clearly, solve accurately, follow up persistently, take responsibility for results, and build trust." He stated that these principles are a fundamental basis for the party's working groups to enhance the efficiency of their grassroots activities, enabling them to be closer to the people and respond timely to their actual needs and challenges.
