Fire During Welding Work in Phnom Penh Injures One Worker

A fire broke out in Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, due to careless iron welding work, resulting in one worker being injured. The incident occurred around 3:20 PM on September 6, 2026, on a lane in Koh Sonra Village, Niroth Commune, Chamkarmon District, Phnom Penh. Authorities reported that one welder sustained injuries. The damage included a metal workshop measuring 0.5 meters by 1.5 meters and one iron cutting machine. A total of five fire trucks were deployed for firefighting operations, including three from the Phnom Penh Municipal Fire Department (one used water), one from Borey Fire Station (did not use water), and one from Koh Sonra Fire Station (did not use water).
