Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker receives delegation

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi received a delegation led by member of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan The Honorable Mr. Hiromichi Watanabe on September 22 at the Pyithu Hluttaw in Nay Pyi Taw. During the meeting, the Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker stated that the Myanmar-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group has already been formed in the parliament and that it’s ready to cooperate between the two parliaments. He added that the parliament is reviewing legal frameworks to enable all business entrepreneurs to operate, and he expressed a desire to coordinate discussions regarding Myanmar's agricultural and technology sectors, noting that Japan is a world leader in these areas. In response, the member of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan stated that his visit aims to promote bilateral cooperation and restart Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects. He also conveyed a desire to foster closer people-to-people relations through cultural exchanges, highlighted existing cooperation in Myanmar's Thilawa Special Economic Zone and agricultural sectors, and pledged to work toward strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of both countries.
