Former Vietnamese Deputy Minister Faces Trial in $1.3 Million Bribery Scheme

Former Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Ba Hoan, has appeared in court on bribery charges, accused of extorting VND 31 billion (approximately $1.3 million) from labor export companies alongside his subordinates. Hoan is alleged to have received VND 16.3 billion.
