Vietnam Accelerates Digital Infrastructure Development for AI and Data Economy

Vietnam is experiencing a rapid increase in demand for computing power, data storage, and data protection due to the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and the data economy. In response, technology enterprises in Vietnam are being urged to gradually build a synchronized digital infrastructure ecosystem that integrates data centers, cloud computing, data management, and information security. This initiative signifies Vietnam's commitment to riding the wave of digitalization and strengthening the foundation for future economic growth. The development of AI and the data economy, in particular, necessitates computational resources and data processing capabilities that exceed traditional infrastructure, making the development of advanced digital infrastructure an urgent priority. Specifically, expanding data centers, improving access to high-performance computing resources, and establishing robust information security systems to safely manage and protect this data are crucial. The Vietnamese government is also demonstrating its intention to support the healthy development of the digital economy by considering data security legislation and accelerating the improvement of foundational data, such as land databases. Investments in this digital infrastructure are expected to play an extremely important role in Vietnam's economic growth strategy, promoting the upgrading of manufacturing industries, the digital transformation of service industries, and the creation of new data-driven businesses.
