State President attends Martyrs' Day ceremony

The 79th Martyrs' Day ceremony was held at Martyrs' Mausoleum in Yangon on the morning of July 19, where State President U Min Aung Hlaing and family members of the Martyrs' leaders laid wreaths and paid homage, it is reported. Along with the State President, the ceremony was attended by Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Aye, Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw U Aung Lin Dway, Chief Justice of the Union U Tha Htay, Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism and Culture U Maung Maung, senior military officials, Chief Minister of Yangon Region Government U Aung Naing Soe, and responsible officials, who laid wreaths and paid homage to General Aung San and other Martyrs' leaders, and paid respects along with the honour guard. Following that, a two-minute silence was observed as a gesture of sending loving-kindness and sharing merits to General Aung San and other Martyrs' leaders. Subsequently, among the family members of the Martyrs' leaders laying wreaths and paying homage, the presence of grandson U Ye Aung San and granddaughter-in-law, who are family members of national leader General Aung San, was observed. After that, family members of other Martyrs' leaders, including Thakin Mya, Doot U Ba Cho, on behalf of the family of U Ba Win, Mann Ba Khine, Sawbwa of Mong Pawn Sao San Htun, U Razak, U Aung Maung, and Ye Baw Ko Htwe, laid wreaths and paid homage. After the family members of the Martyrs' leaders laid wreaths and paid homage, the Yangon Region Government, registered political parties, foreign embassies, NGO organizations, and the general public also attended and paid homage.
