Kampong Speu Province Donates Vassa Candles to 18 Pagodas, Promoting Buddhism

The Kampong Speu provincial administration organized a ceremony to donate Vassa candles and other offerings to 18 pagodas. The event was held at Munireach Ratanaram Pagoda, also known as Mulom Samboe Pagoda, and was presided over by H.E. Yim Sokhom, Chairman of the Provincial Council, and H.E. Dr. Cham Chansokhon, Governor of Kampong Speu Province. Also in attendance were H.E. Mrs. Meng Vandanin, members of the Provincial Council, deputy governors, heads of provincial departments and units, civil servants, armed forces, and a large number of Buddhist followers, participating in a grand ceremony. The ceremony was organized with the aim of preserving and promoting Buddhist traditions, which is the state religion of Cambodia. It also aims to dedicate merit to deceased ancestors and relatives, and to pray for happiness, peace, and progress for the leadership, civil servants, and all citizens of Kampong Speu province. The donated items to each pagoda included Vassa candles, rice, instant noodles, preserved radish, soy sauce, soap, salt, sugar, mineral water, beverages, a package of assorted items, a fruit basket, and a sum of money for each pagoda.
