All ethnic armed organizations are open to the path of peace for regional stability and development, and for achieving sustainable peace, said Vice Senior General La Pyai, Chairman of the National Unity and Peace Promotion Steering Committee. This was stated by Vice Senior General La Pyai at a meeting held between the National Unity and Peace Promotion Steering Committee and the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) at the meeting hall of the Thargah Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on July 24. He said that they have held joint discussions with the NCA-S EAO Negotiation and Coordination Group, and are proceeding on the path of peace through bilateral discussions to fulfill the desires and overcome the difficulties of each group. Furthermore, he said that ethnic armed organizations can engage and walk the path of peace through any path other than the NCA. Vice Senior General La Pyai also said that the Steering Committee is coordinating with the relevant organizations on what can be implemented according to existing laws regarding their desires and needs. After that, Chairman Kyaw Solomon of the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) said that they welcome the invitation for peace from the State Government and the National Unity and Peace Promotion Central Committee (NSPCC), which is free and unconditional. After that, the attendees discussed plans for the future of the Lahu people, regional development projects, socio-economic development of Lahu ethnic people in Shan State (East), Kengtung-Pangwai-Waili region, Arabica coffee cultivation, improvement of transportation, electricity and water supply, technical support and provision of seeds and fertilizers for coffee technicians, and issues related to non-involvement in drug and online scam businesses. After that, coordination was made to record the discussions of both sides, and the record was signed and approved.
