Intense fighting in Bhamo, junta forces ambushed and captured weapons, ammunition, and prisoners

It has been reported that allied resistance forces launched pre-emptive ambushes against junta military columns that had advanced into Bhamo Township, Kachin State, resulting in a large number of casualties on the military side. On September 14, allied forces of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and resistance fighters blockaded and attacked a military column that had advanced from the 47th Light Infantry Division (Khala-47) towards Kabani, causing the column to be routed. "We heard that the military column, which came with new recruits, was blockaded and attacked, leading to the collapse of the unit and their fleeing. They came from Khala-47," a Kachin news source told the Ayeyarwaddy Times. It is understood that the junta military, which suffered heavy casualties and fatalities in the fighting, retreated towards Sihe, carrying the wounded and the bodies of fallen soldiers. Furthermore, on September 13, allied forces of the KIA intercepted and attacked a reinforcement column of the military, which included new recruits, near Kaung Jayan village and the Hein Aung buildings as it advanced from Bhamo. In these battles, more than 30 soldiers from the military side were killed, and more than 10 were captured as prisoners. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also seized.
