International Alliance Combating Telecom and Cyber Fraud Led by China Launched

The ceremony to establish the International Alliance Combating Telecom and Cyber Fraud, led by China, was held on September 10 in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, China. Representatives from 46 founding countries and 34 observer countries attended the ceremony, along with representatives from four international organizations, including the United Nations and INTERPOL. During the ceremony, representatives from China, which jointly initiated the alliance, as well as Vietnam, Laos, Kenya, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Russia, delivered speeches, and a representative from INTERPOL also delivered congratulatory remarks. International representatives attending the ceremony acknowledged China's leadership in global public security and expressed their expectation that the establishment of such an alliance would effectively curb the widespread telecom and cyber fraud around the world. Furthermore, all attendees jointly issued a joint statement on the establishment of the International Alliance Combating Telecom and Cyber Fraud. The statement highlighted that as telecom and cyber fraud have become a global threat, it is highly necessary to establish a more focused, professional, and effective intergovernmental organization based on international consensus. This alliance is being implemented under the Chinese government's "Global Security Initiative" and "Global Governance Initiative" programs. It is understood that the aim is for law enforcement agencies of various countries to cooperate and respond more effectively to crimes related to cross-border cyber fraud.
