Caraga Region Set to Get First Level III Public Hospital
The Caraga Administrative Region in the Philippines is set to get its first Level III public hospital, a development expected to significantly improve medical services for residents.
MANILA, Philippines — The Caraga Administrative Region may soon have its first Level III public hospital, a development that will allow for better provision of medical services to residents of the region, said Butuan Rep. Jose “Joboy” Aquino II on Friday. Aquino made the statement during the Mindanao launch of LegisHear, an initiative of the House of Representatives leadership under Speaker Faustino “Tito” Hernandez. A Level III hospital is a hospital that has the necessary equipment and personnel to perform advanced medical procedures and specialized treatments. Currently, access to such advanced medical services is limited in the Caraga region. The construction of this new hospital is expected to greatly contribute to the improvement of regional residents' health and reduce the burden of travel for patients from remote areas. Aquino emphasized that this project will help address healthcare disparities in the region. In the Philippines, the development of medical infrastructure is an urgent issue, especially in rural areas, and the construction of this hospital in the Caraga region is seen as a step forward.
