Wet Roads Blamed for Lampang Multi-Vehicle Crash, Five Injured

LAMPANG, Thailand – Heavy rain and slippery roads contributed to a multi-vehicle accident on the Lampang–Phrae highway Wednesday morning, leaving five people injured after a pickup truck collided with two passenger cars and a motorcycle swerved to avoid the crash. The accident happened at around 9.35am on July 29 near Chao Pho Wang Shrine in Mae Tha district, Lampang, after police alerted the rescue team to the scene. Rescue workers found a pickup truck and two cars involved in the collision, while a motorcycle had reportedly changed direction to avoid becoming involved, resulting in injuries to five people. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Three injured victims were taken to Mae Tha Hospital for treatment, including a 61-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man who suffered chest pain, and a 32-year-old woman who had knee and wrist pain along with a forehead wound. Rescue teams provided first aid before transferring the injured victims to hospital. Two other people suffered less serious injuries and did not require hospital treatment. Police are investigating the cause of the crash and collecting evidence before taking further legal action. Authorities warned motorists, especially those travelling on mountain roads and elevated areas during the rainy season, to reduce speed, turn on headlights and maintain safe distances due to slippery roads and reduced visibility.
