Vietnam's Communist Party Launches Audit of Can Tho City Party Committee on Cadre Work

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam has commenced an audit and supervision of the Can Tho City Party Committee concerning cadre personnel work. On the afternoon of July 25, the No. 227 Audit and Supervision Delegation, led by Politburo member, Secretariat member, and Head of the Central Organization Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc, held a working session with the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee. The delegation announced the decision to audit and supervise the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee on cadre work. This includes examining the implementation of the Party Central's guidelines, resolutions, and regulations on cadre work; the results of building and managing the cadre team; establishing standards, functions, and evaluation criteria for cadres; the process of appointing and nominating candidates; the management of cadre transfers, appointments, resignations, and dismissals; cadre planning and rotation; cadre evaluation, training, and development; and the implementation of policies for cadres in accordance with regulations. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc urged the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee to focus on analyzing and clarifying the role of the City Party Organization Commission in advising the City Party Standing Committee on cadre work, identifying advantages and limitations in cadre work before and after July 1, 2025, the implementation of cadre work strategies for different periods, decentralization and authorization in cadre work, and related regulations and documents, as well as their implementation in the city. This audit and supervision is part of the Communist Party of Vietnam's ongoing efforts to maintain and strengthen the discipline and suitability of its cadres within the one-party system. Emphasis is placed on ensuring transparency and fairness in cadre appointments to prevent corruption and misconduct. This is considered essential for maintaining the Party's leadership and social stability as Vietnam continues its economic growth.
