Ho Chi Minh City Introduces 'Responsible Green Ticket' with Digital Traceability

Ho Chi Minh City, the major southern metropolis of Vietnam, is advancing the implementation of a new initiative called the 'Responsible Green Ticket' (Tick xanh trách nhiệm) to address ongoing challenges in product quality control. This system aims to enhance product traceability, mandating that goods deemed to be of high risk must be tracked throughout their entire production and distribution process. This will allow consumers to accurately understand where and how their purchased products were produced and processed, thereby expected to increase confidence in the products. Ho Chi Minh City is promoting the use of digital technology, and in this 'Responsible Green Ticket' system, the city plans to introduce advanced technologies such as blockchain to improve the efficiency and reliability of the traceability system. The product traceability system has already begun operations since December 23rd, aiming for rapid and accurate information provision through digitalization. Vietnam's economy has achieved remarkable growth in recent years. However, alongside the expansion of manufacturing, product quality control and measures against counterfeiting remain significant challenges. Especially for export industries, meeting international quality standards is essential, and strengthening traceability is a crucial factor in enhancing the international competitiveness of Vietnamese products. This new system being promoted by Ho Chi Minh City is expected to contribute not only to consumer protection in the domestic market but also to improving the brand image of Vietnamese goods.
