Cambodia's Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology inspected automated pumping stations in Phnom Penh and Kandal province, confirming enhancements for flood control and irrigation. AKP Phnom Penh, June 29, 2026 -- H.E. Chan Sinat, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, led a delegation of technical officials to inspect the progress of automated pumping stations. The inspection covered the Sakk Sampov automated pumping station in Phnom Penh and the Nom Pean Setha automated pumping station in Kandal province. On Sunday, June 28, 2026, H.E. the Secretary of State stated that both modern automated pumping stations are crucial for draining water from Phnom Penh and Kandal province, thereby preventing flooding during the rainy season. Additionally, they will help conserve water for use during the dry season, serving multiple sectors. H.E. also instructed technical officials and relevant parties to properly manage, operate, and maintain these modern achievements sustainably. He noted that these facilities are the result of substantial government investment intended for the benefit of the people and the national economy.
