Vietnamese NA President Boosts Ties with South Korea, Russia, France

Vietnamese National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man has been actively engaged in diplomatic efforts with South Korea, Russia, and France, aiming to strengthen Vietnam's international partnerships. These engagements focus on deepening cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the respective ruling parties, fostering political trust, and enhancing mutual understanding. During discussions with South Korean counterparts, President Man urged the Republic of Korea's legislature to encourage Korean companies to expand investments in Vietnam's priority areas, including infrastructure, semiconductors, large-scale AI data centers, energy, and seaports. He also called for favorable conditions to facilitate the deeper engagement of Vietnamese enterprises within South Korea's manufacturing supply chains. This reflects Vietnam's ambition to enhance its international competitiveness in advanced technology sectors and upgrade its economic structure. Regarding relations with France, Nguyen Hai Nam, Chairman of the France-Vietnam Friendship Association (AAFV), emphasized France's role as a special partner for Vietnam in Europe. France can serve as a gateway for Vietnam to access the European Union (EU), while Vietnam can act as France's entry point for deeper engagement with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This highlights Vietnam's strategy to leverage its geopolitical advantages and expand its access to European markets. In engagements with Russia, Politburo Member and Standing Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu instructed the Party Organization of Central Party Agencies to focus on advisory work and preparations for the upcoming 4th plenum of the 14th CPV Central Committee. Meetings with Russian officials, including Chairman of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Ziuganov, are also scheduled. The Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is expected to contribute to prosperity, peace, and stability in the region and the world, signaling Vietnam's commitment to maintaining and strengthening ties with traditional allies. These diplomatic initiatives underscore Vietnam's strong implementation of the foreign policy outlined by the 14th National Party Congress, aimed at creating a conducive external environment for development in the "new era" and mobilizing international resources. As Vietnam undergoes rapid transformation, it seeks to identify common interests with countries like France, which are looking to strengthen partnerships with dynamic Asian economies, thereby seizing opportunities to advance bilateral relations into a new phase of development.
