PNP: 6 reported dead amid heavy rains due to Maymay

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday said at least six people were reported dead amid heavy rainfall due to Tropical Depression Maymay (international name: Kujira). In a press briefing in Camp Crame, PNP public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co detailed that a rockfall-landslide incident in Rodriguez, Rizal left a 20-year-old dead. The tropical depression traversed northern Philippines, bringing heavy rains and strong winds across a wide area. This has caused floods and landslides in various locations, with damage to infrastructure also reported. The PNP is continuing to assess the situation and conduct rescue operations, urging residents to evacuate to safer areas.
