Vietnam Imposes Up to $1,900 Fines for Spreading Fake News Online

Vietnam has issued a new decree imposing fines of up to VND20 million ($800) for individuals and VND40 million ($1,600) for organizations caught spreading fabricated or false content online. The decree covers various information and communication sectors under cybersecurity management and will take effect on July 1.
