Gem and Jewellery Exhibition to be held in Yangon

It is known that the 5th Yangon International Gems & Jewellery Exhibition (2026) will be held for 4 days from August 6th to 9th at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Yangon Region Gems & Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association. A press conference regarding the exhibition was held on August 1st at the Lotte Hotel. It is said that the exhibition is being held with the aim of penetrating the Myanmar gem and jewellery sector from domestic to international markets. U Aung Kyaw Zin, Chairman of the Yangon Region Gems & Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association, said that it is necessary to actively promote Myanmar gems as they are popular in the world market. It is known that at the exhibition, gems worth 1 million and 2 million kyats will be sold, and a CSR program will also be held where 10% of the proceeds will be donated to other health sectors. Daw Moe Moe Shwe, Vice Chairman (4) of the Yangon Region Gems & Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association, said that more than 150 booths will be set up at the exhibition, and in addition to selling gems and jewellery, lectures on gemology will also be held. It is known that the Yangon Region Gems & Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association has held the Yangon International Gems & Jewellery Fair 4 times in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2025, in order to develop the domestic market for gems and jewellery and to enhance the reputation of Myanmar's indigenous gems in the world.
