President says reforms will be implemented for national development

It is said that practical reforms will be implemented to strengthen multi-party democracy and develop the nation in Myanmar, according to the Head of State, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on an official visit to Vietnam, made these remarks during a meeting with Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, on the morning of September 5th, local time, at the meeting hall of the Vietnamese National Assembly in Hanoi. He stated that since a new government elected by the people has now emerged in Myanmar and the parliaments have also resumed, he wishes for the sharing of legislative and supervisory experiences from the Vietnamese National Assembly. At present, Myanmar is implementing a regional-based federal system suitable for the nation to solidify its path to building a democratic country, and the Head of State requested that the Vietnamese National Assembly provide as much support and assistance as possible. He further stated that the two parliaments can continue to cooperate closely to continue mutual support on regional and international parliamentary fronts and to further enhance cooperation among ASEAN parliaments. In addition, the Head of State stated that existing friendly relations with neighboring countries and friendly nations will be further strengthened, and regional interests will continue to be pursued in a balanced manner.
