Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia – July 18, 2026 Attention to the well-being and agricultural livelihoods of citizens at the grassroots level remains a top priority for representatives. On the afternoon of July 17, 2026, His Excellency Ke Kim Yan, Member of Parliament for Banteay Meanchey Province and Senior Advisor to His Majesty the King, led a working group on an on-site inspection to assess the flood situation and water supply systems in Mongkol Borei District, aiming to ensure the supply of water for consumption and agricultural production for the people. The core initiative and activities of this grassroots visit included assessing the flood situation and hydraulic systems. Accompanied by His Excellency Kheng Sum, Member of Parliament for Banteay Meanchey Province, and leaders from the Mongkol Borei District Administration, HE Ke Kim Yan personally inspected the flood situation at the site of the Pou Thour Rum (Two Trees) weir construction in Rohath Teuk Commune. This inspection of the weir construction site was intended to evaluate the capacity for water storage and drainage to prevent severe flooding of agricultural produce and to ensure that water levels are carefully managed to meet both daily consumption needs and the irrigation requirements for farmers in the area. Following the inspection of the frontline water systems, both Members of Parliament and the working group continued their journey to sincerely greet and interact with commune council members at the Bot Trong Commune Hall in Mongkol Borei District. This meeting and exchange were not only intended to boost the morale of local officials but also served as an opportunity to listen to reports on various challenges and issues faced by the commune, in order to find appropriate and timely solutions for the residents. The grassroots activity led by HE Ke Kim Yan that afternoon clearly demonstrated a high sense of responsibility and an unwavering commitment to acting as a bridge connecting the Royal Government, leadership, and the people under all circumstances, with the goal of ensuring the safety and economic stability of the farming families in Banteay Meanchey Province.
