Vietnam Strengthens International Ties Amidst National Day Celebrations

Vietnam received a flurry of congratulatory messages from foreign leaders on the occasion of its 81st National Day, with many affirming their readiness to closely coordinate with Vietnam to further strengthen bilateral ties across all fields for the benefit of their peoples. The reception featured Vietnamese songs and dances performed by children from Vietnamese-language classes and Vietnamese students. Members of the Vietnamese community also introduced traditional Vietnamese cuisine to international guests, fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding. Domestically, large numbers of domestic and foreign visitors flocked to the 48 Hang Ngang Street relic site in Hanoi, where President Ho Chi Minh drafted the Declaration of Independence 81 years ago. This pilgrimage underscores a national pride and a desire to connect with the country's historical roots. Regarding Vietnam-Russia relations, it was emphasized that they are currently developing dynamically across many fields and dimensions, built on a solid foundation of friendship and mutual understanding cultivated over years. The visit by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee and President To Lam to Russia is seen not merely as a continuation of the tradition of regular high-level contacts but also as an opportunity to inject fresh momentum into bilateral cooperation. The visit aims to promote parliamentary diplomacy, contributing to breakthroughs in economic, trade, and investment cooperation, particularly by effectively utilizing the new pillar of science and technology collaboration. In the context of Vietnam-South Korea relations, National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man stressed the significant contributions of Korean non-governmental organizations, associations, scientists, and businesses to the achievements recorded over the past years. He called on Vietnamese people residing in the RoK to continue strengthening solidarity, abiding by local laws, and contributing to the host country and bilateral ties, while preserving their Vietnamese language, national cultural identity, and traditions. The official visit by the NA President to the RoK affirms the consistent importance Vietnam attaches to the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, aiming to strengthen political trust and discuss specific measures to translate high-level agreements into concrete outcomes. Concerning Vietnam-Japan relations, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung emphasized that local collaboration is an important and distinctive feature of the bilateral ties, and the Vietnamese Government considers it a practical and effective channel contributing to the overall development of bilateral relations. PM Hung urged Japanese businesses to continue trusting and choosing Vietnam as a long-term investment destination, expand their operations, and work more closely with Vietnamese partners to fully tap the substantial potential for cooperation between the two economies. These visits are significant for implementing Vietnam's foreign policy and Party resolutions, reinforcing political trust, and contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world. The Comprehensive Cooperative Partnership with Mongolia is also set to develop in a more substantive, effective, and sustainable manner. Separately, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Trung was dismissed from office for violations and shortcomings in his work, indicating the ongoing efforts within Vietnam's one-party system to maintain discipline among public officials.
