Aiming to strengthen the existing bilateral friendly relations, and to promote bilateral trade and investment cooperation, Myanmar-Japan Business Forum was held at Myanmar Convention Center in Yangon on Tuesday. President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing graced the forum which was jointly organized by Association of Myanmar-Japan Socio-Economic Development Cooperation (AMJSEDC), INGO Peace, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce. The Japan-Myanmar Economic Forum at Myanmar Convention Center in Yangon brings together relevant officials, business representatives and investors from both countries to strengthen bilateral economic ties and create new trade and investment opportunities. It was attended by 94 business representatives from Japan and over 300 Myanmar representatives attended the forum where they exchanged views and experiences on improving the overall investment climate and expanding economic cooperation. On the occasion, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing unveiled the digital screen. In his inaugural speech, he stressed Myanmar-Japan diplomatic relations have existed since 1954 for over 70 years. Through People-to-People cooperation and exchanges in education, health and social sector, there exists great love, respect and bonding between Myanmar and Japan. Chairman of INGO Peace Mr. Nakazawa Hiroyuki of Japan also congratulated Myanmar hard work for organizing the successful forum. He also expressed his confidence in Japan-Myanmar economic cooperation which could open more opportunities and step-by-step cooperation in future. INGO Peace, Chairman, Nakazawa Hiroyuki said " Japan and Myanmar share a long-standing friendship that has endured many challenges. Our organization is dedicated to support communities in need, especially children and youths, who are crucial for the development of a nation. Through this forum, we foster connections between the younger generations of both countries, creating opportunities for collaboration and strengthening bilateral ties between Myanmar and Japan. Likewise, the shared social and cultural values provide the solid foundation for closer people-to-people engagement."
