A joint team, including members of the Anti-Narcotics Police Force, was investigating a Thai national, Chaiyarat Wisit, who was walking along the Mae Sai stream in Tarok Ward, Tachilek City, at 2:30 PM on June 27. During the search, they discovered 8 kilograms of ketamine, a type of narcotic, and arrested him. The seized narcotics are valued at 960 million kyats, and the arrested Thai national, Chaiyarat Wisit, 28, has been charged and is being prosecuted at the Tachilek City Police Station under the Law Relating to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, according to the police force's announcement.
