Da Nang Accelerates MICE Tourism for Year-End Growth

The central city of Da Nang is stepping up its efforts to promote MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) tourism in preparation for the year-end peak season. The city has set a target to welcome approximately 93,000 MICE visitors by 2026, an increase of about 12% year-on-year. To achieve this goal, the local tourism sector plans to strengthen cooperation with corporations, business groups, and event organizers in the coming months. Furthermore, diversification of tourism promotion activities is also being pursued. The revitalization of MICE tourism is positioned as a crucial strategy to boost Da Nang's economic growth. In Vietnam, economic growth under the one-party system is a top priority, and the tourism sector is expected to be a pillar in terms of foreign exchange earnings and job creation. Da Nang, in particular, is focusing on attracting international conferences and events, aiming to establish its position as a MICE destination in the Asia-Pacific region through infrastructure development and service improvement. In its relations with China, while economic ties are strong, diplomatic policies are pursued with geopolitical balance in mind, and the diversification of tourists is considered to be not unrelated to this context.
