Dak Lak Durian Festival Concludes Successfully, National Day Celebrated

Dak Lak Province in Vietnam's Central Highlands concluded its 2026 Durian Festival on the evening of September 2nd at Phu Yen Square. The festival was held in conjunction with a special artistic program commemorating the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) and Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945). Numerous engaging activities were featured during the festival, allowing visitors to explore and experience durian orchards. Notably, live-streaming sales saw over 27.8 tons of durian sold, with more than 5,570 orders placed, significantly boosting the regional economy. Additionally, various collectives and individuals from the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard were recognized for their contributions to strengthening border areas. The province also expressed its readiness to collaborate with the "Moving Forward with Vietnam" program in 2026, demonstrating a proactive approach to regional development. Separately from the festival, the 1st Dak Lak Provincial Sports and Games Festival of 2026 commenced, emphasizing the promotion of physical health and sports among local residents. These events are expected to promote Dak Lak's rich agricultural resources and culture both domestically and internationally, while contributing to the revitalization of the regional economy and the improvement of residents' livelihoods. Under Vietnam's one-party system, such regional development events are positioned as crucial tools for balancing economic growth and social stability. Particularly in relation to China, domestic economic stability forms the bedrock of foreign policy, thus regional economic vitalization is promoted as part of the nation's overall growth strategy.
