According to local police, the incident occurred on Sunday, August 30, around 4:30 PM WITA, on Jalan Raya Canggu-Tanah Lot, Banjar Sedahan, Desa Munggu, Kecamatan Mengwi, Badung Regency. Based on witness accounts and circulating video footage, a foreign couple was reportedly riding a motorcycle while under the influence of alcohol. A local resident who was passing by allegedly warned the couple about their driving, which led to a confrontation. One of the foreigners is suspected of assaulting the local resident who issued the warning. Further reports indicate that another foreigner arrived at the scene and attempted to assist the assaulted local. The foreign couple, suspected of the assault, then left the scene. The victim also departed shortly after. Police are currently working to identify both the victim and the alleged perpetrator, and are conducting further investigations, including witness interviews and reviewing video recordings, to ascertain the full sequence of events.
