Cambodia to Host 10km Women's Race to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness, Expecting 5,000 Participants

The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) has announced the upcoming 10km women's running event aimed at raising awareness and preventing breast cancer, scheduled for October 25, 2026. Speaking at a press conference at the NOCC headquarters on September 8, NOCC Secretary of State Wat Chamroeun stated that the event is expected to attract approximately 5,000 participants. Over 2,000 individuals have already registered, and a broad appeal has been made to public officials and citizens to join. This marks the fifth time the event has been organized with the primary goal of increasing understanding of breast cancer and contributing to its prevention. Mr. Chamroeun also highlighted that the run not only promotes the daily well-being of citizens but also encourages environmental conservation within Phnom Penh, contributing to its transformation into a 'Green Capital'. The Phnom Penh City Hall will provide full cooperation in traffic management for the event. Mr. Sem Pholla, Executive Director of Marathon Organization under the NOCC, urged the public to adhere to traffic laws on the day of the run, emphasizing that compliance protects everyone's lives.
