Phnom Penh Police Arrest 18 Suspects in 5 Criminal Cases

In Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, 18 individuals have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in multiple criminal activities as part of ongoing efforts to maintain public security. The Phnom Penh Municipal Police announced the results of these arrests on July 20, 2026. According to the announcement, the 18 arrested suspects are alleged to have been involved in five different criminal cases that occurred between July 16 and July 18, 2026. These cases include attempted murder and robbery, intentional assault and intentional damage to property, theft accompanied by illegal drug use, and assault. Case 1: Attempted murder and aggravated robbery, committed at a rented room No. 7, Concrete Road, Prey Kago Village, Chom Chao 2 Quarter, Sen Sok District, on July 16, 2026, at 11:20 AM. Case 2: Intentional assault with aggravating circumstances and intentional damage to property with aggravating circumstances, committed at Road No. 597, Toul Kork Village, Toul Sangke 1 Quarter, Russey Keo District, on June 17, 2026, at 8:07 PM; June 18, 2026, at 8:47 PM; July 2, 2026, at 8:06 PM; and July 12, 2026, at approximately 2:15 AM, caused by delinquent groups named "Chak," "Kieng," and "Krom Kraom Karat." Cases 3 and 4: Aggravated theft due to breaking and entering, and illegal use of narcotic substances, committed at House No. 35, Road No. 240, Village 11, Chay Chumneah Quarter, Daun Penh District, on June 30, 2026, at 3:37 AM. Theft of a motorcycle and mobile phone, and illegal use of narcotic substances, committed in front of Borey Heng Heang, Chaom Chao Boulevard, Prey Kago Village, Chom Chao 2 Quarter, Sen Sok District, on July 8, 2026, at 3:42 AM. Case 5: Intentional assault with aggravating circumstances, committed at a makeshift construction alley, 60-meter Road, Prek Tagnok Village, Chak Angre Leu Quarter, Meanchey District, on June 14, 2026, at 1:49 AM, caused by delinquent groups named "Boeng Kak (BK)" and "Alien Takhmao."
