Cambodia Convenes Technical Meeting for Asian Elephant Conservation Program

Cambodia's Ministry of Environment, in partnership with international conservation organization Fauna & Flora, organized a technical working group meeting for the Asian Elephant and other rare and endangered species conservation program on September 17th. The meeting aimed to review the progress of the National Action Plan for the Conservation of Asian Elephants for 2020-2029, identify challenges and priority needs, discuss funding possibilities and mechanisms, identify invasive species affecting Asian elephant habitats, and strengthen cooperation among stakeholders. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Kong Kim Sreng, representative of the Director General of the General Directorate of Nature Protection Areas of the Ministry of Environment. Participants included national and international conservation partners such as Fauna & Flora, CI, Wildlife Alliance, WWF, WCS, IUCN, NatureLife Cambodia, WEA, and ACCB. The meeting was organized by the General Directorate of Nature Protection Areas and Fauna & Flora, with financial support from Wildlife Warriors.
